TODAY, SEPTEMBER 19, WE ARE WORKING ON A LEAK ON SMOKY VIEW AND O'DELL. WE WILL GET THIS FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
WE WILL BE FLUSHING IN WORTHINGTON FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS. HAVE A GREAT DAY. THANK YOU.
As your water service provider it is our desire to provide abundant, clean water to the growing residential population of our service area and future generation. As a part of our ongoing efforts to meet development trends and future water demands of Blount County, SBCUD must replace aging infrastructure with new infrastructure that will meet those demands for future generations.
Peach Orchard Road New Line Install
Beginning at the intersection of Peach Orchard Rd and Ridge Rd, the new line will run along the Northeastern side of the road for approximately 3,400 ft before crossing over to the Southwestern side of the road and ending finally at 3005 Peach Orchard Rd.
This project will involve the installation of approximately 7,200 ft of new water main line, consisting of 8' PVC pipe that will be installed by SBCUD personnel. This project is solely funded with SBCUD operational reserves.
This project is scheduled to begin sometime near the end of September or early October time frame.
Salem Road New Line Install
Beginning at the intersection of Salem Rd and Lambert Rd, extending to the intersection of Salem Rd and Houston Springs Rd in Greenback.
The existing water line terminates at the intersection of Salem Rd and Lambert Rd, this project will extend that line around 2,000 feet along Salem Rd to where it intersects with Houston Springs Rd.
This project began the week of August 19th and is almost complete.
Robert C Jackson Road Extension
Beginning at the intersection of Robert C Jackson Rd & Hwy 321 and ending at Morganton Rd.
The City of Maryville is connecting Hwy 321 and Morganton Rd by way of extending Robert C Jackson Road. Since this is part of our service area, we installed over 5,300 feet of 8-in water line along the road extension, connecting the existing lines on Hwy 321 and Morganton Rd. The new water line will improve the hydraulics for Big Springs Rd and Morganton Rd areas.
This project will was entirely self-performed by South Blount Utility.
Construction is complete! There is some remaining flushing and sampling to be performed to finish out the project.
Along Calderwood Hwy, between Baumgardner Rd and Hwy 411.
The project replaced 19,700 feet of existing 50 year old 4-inch water line with a 20-inch water main that provides an additional 3,000 gallons per minute. This water transmission line distributes water from SBCUD’s water treatment plant to customers that are located in the north service area and will provide additional flows along Calderwood Hwy, 411 Hwy, and to the water storage tanks located on Ratledge Road and in Louisville.
Complete! Mike Smith Pump Service is performing the finishing touches to restore affected properties to their original condition.
The $2.1 million project is solely funded by SBCUD’s operational reserves.
