South Blount County Utility District Announces Perfect Score on TDEC Sanitary Survey.

Our employees work very hard to provide a quality service to the customers of our District and this reward of a perfect score of 100 from Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) is something that the utility is very proud of this year.

The perfect score is important to the community as a demonstration of the commitment of the employees of the District to providing safe and quality drinking water to our customer base, but largely attributes the employee’s hard work, attention to detail and dedication to the District and customers.

The sanitary survey is an unannounced on-site audit of the total operations and maintenance of a public water system by TDEC’s Division of Water Supply. The two-day survey inspects every facet of the water system from the beginning of water production to the delivery of water to the customer’s meter. The following is a partial list of the inspection: operations, maintenance programs, customer complaints, records and documentation, treatment techniques, numerous water quality tests at the plant and in the field, construction procedures, engineering, cross connection, backflow and water tank inspections.

Customers are unaware of the procedures and records that our employees have to keep up with, however it is part of the job, to deliver a product that is so often taken for granted.

Your weather just got better.
